This forged & folded tachi of the Diamond class is a real pearl and unique in this price range !
The Tachi sword has a bigger sori (curve) than his brother the katana and and was primarily used on a horseback. Tachi swords were hung with the edge down where the katana have it's edge upwards.
The blade of this Tachi is forged & folded in a traditional way and comes with a mirror polish witch brings out the hada very nicely. It is a masterpiece of the smiths at Huanuo Sword Art. The blade of this katana is made of forged & folded steel and differentially clay tempered with an edge hardness of 58-60 HRC and a back hardness of 40 HRC.Almost typical for these swords is the beautiful laquered saya with the Mon (family crest) motive and of course the special tying of the sageo.
If You are looking for a real collector item and a sword that is fitting your budget, this is an unique chance. You won't find these kind of swords with other manufacturers !
What is making this sword other than 'the others' is the fact that it is handpolished on imported Japanese Stones. This is a long and very time consuming work that need 13 phases to complete one katana. 99% of the production blades are etched to bring out the hamon. This one is done only by handpolish, no etching.
Delivery term: 2,4 weeks.
